9:00 AM – Breakfast and Lessons at a Local Café

Our day begins at 9:00 AM at a charming nearby café, where the aroma of freshly brewed coffee and warm pastries fills the air. We gather as a small group to enjoy a traditional Mexican breakfast—think chilaquiles, huevos rancheros, or fluffy pan dulce paired with a rich café de olla. As you savor your meal, our friendly teacher kicks off the day’s lesson right at the café.

We focus on practical grammar and vocabulary tailored to the day’s adventures. For example, on our first day, the theme is transportation and safety. You’ll learn essential phrases like “¿Dónde está el metro?” (Where is the metro?) alongside key vocabulary for navigating the city. We also introduce words and expressions you’ll need for visiting some of Mexico City’s most amazing museums and attractions later in the day. Our lessons are interactive and engaging, ensuring you feel prepared and excited for what’s ahead.

11:00 AM – Exploring Mexico City with Your Teacher

After a couple of hours of instruction, we leave the café and hit the streets of Mexico City—with our teacher by our side! This is where the real learning happens. As we explore, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to practice your Spanish with locals. Whether you’re asking for directions, chatting with a street vendor, or buying a ticket at a museum, you’ll be using the language in authentic situations.

To make this experience even more structured and fun, each student receives a task sheet with helpful phrases, translations, and small challenges to complete throughout the day. For example, you might need to ask a local for a recommendation on the best taco stand or inquire about the history of a monument. Don’t worry if you’re feeling shy—we go at your pace. If you’re not up for talking to strangers all day, you can take it slow, and our teacher is always there to support you.

Your teacher/guide will continually talk with you in Spanish, (and english as needed) helping you become converstionail, and detailing how to say things that you are interested in learning. And, of course, correcting and encouraging.

Throughout the Day – Snacking and Savoring Local Flavors

As we venture through the city, we make plenty of stops to snack and eat at local restaurants and street vendors. You might try a refreshing agua fresca, share a plate of tacos al pastor, or sample elote (grilled corn) slathered with chili and lime. Our teacher helps you navigate menus, order in Spanish, and even learn food-related vocabulary on the spot. Eating becomes a delicious part of your learning journey!

Day 1 Highlights – Museums and Attractions

On this first day, we visit some of Mexico City’s most iconic spots. We might explore the National Museum of Anthropology to marvel at the Aztec Sun Stone or stroll through the historic center to see the Templo Mayor. As we go, you’ll practice the transportation and safety phrases you learned earlier—whether it’s taking the metro or asking a local to help you take that perfect picture. Every interaction is a chance to build your confidence in Spanish.

Late Afternoon – Back to the Hotel Area

By late afternoon, we’ll head back to the hotel area, wrapping up our guided adventure for the day. From here, you’re free to spend the evening as you please. You might choose to relax at a nearby café, soak in the sights and sounds of Mexico City, or prepare for the next day’s theme.
